What problems are cannot be addressed through a house call?

House calls are NOT available for very unwell pets, pets in a lot of pain, or emergencies.  These situations need immediate diagnostics and intensive treatment at a veterinary clinic.

For Health and Safety reasons, we are not able to examine dangerous or aggressive dogs, or dogs which owners are unable to control and hold for examination.

Wild cats can NOT be examined during a house call.

In-home Euthanasia

I understand that saying goodbye to a much-loved family pet is an extremely difficult time, even when you know it is the kindest thing to let go.

For many people, being at home with your pet in familiar and comfortable surroundings makes the situation less stressful and eases the process a little.

At Tamahere Moblie Vet, I can support you and your pet in your own home, and take care of everything (including cremation), so you can concentrate on just being with your pet at this difficult time.  We aim to make the process as loving, peaceful  and dignified as possible.

Your pet scan sit or lay wherever they feel most comfortable, perhaps on a favourite cushion or on your lap.

How do I minimise the cost of veterinary care for my pets

I strongly recommend pet medical insurance to help cover unexpected veterinary bills.  Regular health checks and vaccinations, good good and exercise will help prevent problems developing. Early detection of problems usually results in better and cheaper treatment.
